What Are Affiliate Links?
Affiliate links are tracked URLs that identify when a visitor came from Hosting Atlas. When you click such a link and subsequently make a purchase, the hosting provider pays us a referral commission. This is a standard practice in the publishing industry and one of the primary ways independent review sites like ours generate revenue to continue operating.
Which Links Are Affiliate Links?
Any link pointing to a hosting provider's website may be an affiliate link. We do not individually label every affiliate link on every page, but we always disclose the general existence of affiliate relationships on relevant pages (typically with a small "Affiliate link" note near call-to-action buttons).
Links to third-party resources such as documentation, news articles and government websites are not affiliate links.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Content
We want to be completely transparent about this:
- Commissions do not affect rankings. We rank providers based on our benchmark data, uptime records, support quality and overall value – not on commission rates. A provider with a high commission that performs poorly will receive a low score.
- We recommend providers we have independently tested. Every provider featured prominently on Hosting Atlas has been tested by our team with real hosting plans purchased at our own expense.
- We decline affiliate relationships with providers we cannot recommend. If a provider performs badly in our testing, we will not promote them regardless of commission rate.
- Prices shown are for reference only. Hosting prices change frequently. Always verify the current price on the provider's website before purchasing.
FTC Disclosure
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), Hosting Atlas discloses its material connections to advertisers and affiliate partners. The commission we earn does not increase the price you pay.
